A.G. NewSales letter July ‘25

Finally cooled off a bit enabling me to think straight -sort of. Nothing much to report this month so straight into some ‘Pretty Pictures’

1.

A very  special gem. The definitive book wonderfully detailed by Mark Hill – with contributions and signatures of those of us who had the honour of knowing and working with Michael Harris – on his life and works as the founder of Isle of Wight Glass and prior to that, Mdina Glass.

It includes his life history and the development of the Studio Glass movement as well as coloured images of many of the ranges with full descriptions and comes complete with illustrations of his much copied genuine signature which has been applied to many pieces in the hope of fooling the unwary as it adds so much value to pieces.

It ends with copies of the original price lists – from the original studio order forms – all topped off with two separate pages of values of all those items shown in the book from publication date of 2006 then updated by myself showing the increase in values as at 2016.

Many have changed in value since then due to various reasons such as scarcity etc. A priceless gem f0r the serious collector.Since release it has changed hands for up to well over £200 as only 1500 were published and distributed. An added bonus and value is the signatures of Mark Hill and some of those involved in its compilation as shown.

Offer price at £75.00

The peak of the glass makers art in the process known as ‘Graal’ (Google the word to see what it entails if you don’t know but suffice to say that it is a long, arduous and highly skilled process) including multi casing hand carved cameo before finally reheating and blowing. Very atractive as well as investible. One of Tim’s masterpieces.

Now becomig a VERY scarce gem made by The Master himself, Michael Harris. But also with the design influence of the Boffo father and son seconded from the mighty Whitefriars factory. A signed example of this would currently set you back close on £1000 making this unsigned example a bargain. Currently another almost identical one is available from us. Both are in the scarcest colour of amethyst.
