The original award winning ‘Black Azurene’ finish was developed by Michael Harris in collaboration with RCA student and glassmaker William Walker in 1978. He perfected the technique of applying 22ct gold and sterling silver to the surface of hot glass and received worldwide accolades for this ground breaking design. It is still the Studio’s flagship range. At various times the range was produced in a variety of colours which included black, white (very rare), pink, blue, red, azure, green, gold (on black) and turquoise (also rare).
